Gingerbread Marisa

Here's a few pictures of Marisa....after I finally caught up with her! She is modeling the gingerbread sweatshirt I put together for her to wear during the holidays. Enjoy the "few" pictures that I managed to get before she ran off again!

Grandma, Aunt Nenna, Marisa and Aunt Kim helped chaparone 4th and 5th graders from Kayela and Kelsey's class....the crossing guards and the student council to be exact! We were glad that Kayela had been elected Vice-President and Kelsey, Secretary of the Student Council so we could go back again to Michigan Adventure for another fun day! This year, Aunt Nenna and Marisa joined us. So...sit back, as we share our day with you!

a BIG craft show setup...

Click to play big craft show setup

I put together a sample of pictures taken just before a BIG show setup! It takes me about 2+ hours to get it to this point. There are actually two more tables in the center...NOT in the photos!!

armory craft show....

First little show of the year...held at the Armory on Saturday. I say "little"...any time I can get it all in ONE van...it's little! I didn't get a picture of my display with the purses, though...and also had a few adult embroidered sweatshirts with me as well. The lady next to me didn't show up, so I was able to spread out into her spot just as the show was starting. For a Spring show, it was quite typical...slow...but still made some money, got to show off my new items and chat with customers that I hadn't seen over the winter! Plus...it got me motivated and organized for my Farmers Market that I will start in two weeks...yippee! Now I have time to get my yard in better shape and be outside until the markets start up....oh yes, and to get some things listed on ebay, too!

my cat Bailey....

Click to play Bailey

Today, I went through pictures of Bailey and put together a little slide show using Smilebox. Smilebox had tons of options for putting together great slideshows, photobooks or looks like you have the option for printing out scrapbook pages....with a fee. Anyways, you can make good use of just the free account if you don't mind the advertising! Give it a try!

placemat purses.....

Where's the placemat?

It is actually the front of this cute purse!

A few weeks ago, I started playing around with a placemat that I've had here for awhile. Not liking most of the purses I had seen online made from placemats, I took the best attributes of those I DID like...and then added my own touches to come up with this design. I simply LOVE it! I love the lining, too...it makes the purse look finished...something that the others that I had seen, lacked. So, I start by embroidering the placemat...while embroidering, I cut my pieces and then when it's finished at the embroidery machine, I take it to the sewing machine and put it together. These will be so cute for summer use...I'm calling these my "scooters". I have a show in a week and these will make their debut at that show.

first post!

Well, here we go! It's time I got into the world of blogging. Quite honestly, I really don't have anything on my mind at the moment, so I will just share this cute picture of Marisa, my niece. She tried out a tricycle for the first time Sunday. Her feet just about reach...so she will soon be trying to keep up with the big girls!
For all of you who do not know Marisa's story, she was adopted, at an age of 5 1/2 months, from Colombia, by my youngest sister and brother-in-law, in February 2007.
